Welcome to Crafting Crossfit Mom

A little about me

Welcome and thank you for stopping by my little space to share the things that I enjoy and have become passionate about. We are an Active Duty Military blended family of five. I am a Wife (to Lucas), Mother of 3 (Lily, Ross the Boss and Charlotte) and work at home Mama. Over the summer we transferred to Massachusetts from Northern California. This will be our first experience living on the East Coast and we're looking forward to exploring this side of the country! This blog originally started as a little space to share my fitness journey. Over time, my vision has adjusted.....I am looking forward to sharing all the new and exciting things that I have become passionate about.

Fitness

I have been athletic for the majority of my life. I played recreational sports (soccer, softball and volleyball) and I was a competitive figure skater.  I started my crossfit journey in January 2013, one year after my third child was born. Crossfit has changed my life in numerous ways which I hope to share with you in a future post. I am currently taking a break from crossfit to go to physical therapy for a hip injury and can't wait to heal and get back into the gym. I love fitness of all different methods from yoga, running (I started doing 5k/10k races), lifting weights in a traditional gym and crossfit gym and at home work outs. I look forward to sharing my journey of healing and my "come back" to strength and conditioning training!

Healthy Living

Finding Crossfit in 2013 was a big catalyst to many changes personally and for my families health and wellness. The first phase of this transition started a few months after I started Crossfit. I started by changing our nutrition, becoming label conscious and learning more about where and how the foods we eat are grown or produced so that we could make healthier choices. The second phase of my (our families) health and wellness journey started about a year and a half ago by beginning to transition away from conventional person care and house hold products. I look forward to sharing more about my experiences with cooking, meal prep, clean beauty, non-toxic personal care, Essential Oils and non toxic household products with you.

Crafting/Home Decor

I absolutely love Pinterest and have more projects pinned and saved on my Pinterest Boards than I care to admit (follow my Pinterest Boards here). During the summer we transferred from Massachusetts. We had the opportunity to purchase our first home here, which we are so grateful and excited about. I are so excited to have the opportunity (within reason) to have the opportunity to decorate and execute all the decor and DIY projects I have been dreaming about. Like many people, I have fallen in love with the show fixer upper on HGTV (I am so sad that season 5 is their last season). We dream of the idea that Chip and Joanna Gains would one day renovate a home for us. Many of my projects will be farm house inspired combined with a little New England/Cape Cod charm.
